Tying the metrics with business impact

Every organization is focused on creating an impact and finding the fastest route to make a business impact for their customers. It then becomes critical to answer questions like 1) What is business value? 2) How do we know the impact on the customer? 3) Do we know this was the right time to deliver this value to customer? 4) Have we prioritized our backlog according to the business value? And so on…

To answer these questions, the organization needs to explore on “How can we measure this?” And back up this with “Are we using right metrics for our measurements?”

This presentation is going to focus on what metrics helps organizations to see true value impact, identify improvements to ensure value streams are flowing seamlessly and also few common metrics which are not essentially metrics at all !

And also touch upon, how can we scale these practices at organization level.

Agile Metrics Survey — The Good, the Bad, and the Unknown

In 2020, more than 1,100 peers from all over the world participated in the Agile Metrics Survey. This survey shall help answer a critical question: What agile metrics do companies use that claim “agile” is an established practice throughout the organization? Moreover, are there differences between industries, countries, and the size of the company? Let’s have a look at the most exciting findings.

A battle-plan for your first 30 days as a Product Owner.

Getting a good start is paramount for having success off in your role. But what can you do? The Scrum guide doesn’t provide concrete help other than inspect and adapt, but what to inspect? What to adapt? How to discover what is expected of you? In this fun and practical session we will go through a playbook for a great start.

Descaling Organizational Complexity to Expedite Product Delivery

As an Organization we are inquiring, are we prepared to endure up with the speed which the market is calling for?

Are we competent to grapple up with the speed at which competitor is able to seize the market?

What is wrong with our speed?

We were market leaders once, but what is taking place and what will crop up in the future?

Most of the leaders are seeking these questions among themselves and building strategies to fixate on for the survival traits or win back the market leadership with Radical innovation.

Most of the enterprise has evolved to develop into a heavily stable hierarchical structure, now modern organizations demand agility with stability.

Achieving both requires considerable reforms to be accomplished in Culture, Structure, People, Process, and tools. How fast can we bring those revolutions, do we have the capacity and capability to carry on those changes? If not, what will happen to the Product delivery speed and market penetration?
Can we establish Organization as a machine to Organization as an Organism?

Let us talk about a few of these factors to work upon and enable an organization to thrive with agility.

The 3-Step Product Management Guide: How to Set and Manage Realistic Goals Using Your Past Performance Data

Here is the only guide you'll ever need to set and manage realistic goals using your past performance data. In this session, you'll learn:

  • How to make reliable commitments with the right tools: The data-driven approach to making forecasts using your historical performance data.
  • How to determine the best time to start your work: Increase the likelihood of delivering on time by identifying the ideal date range to start a task.
  • The most effective approach to managing the flow of work effectively: How to manage your tasks in progress to make sure you hit your commitments.

Delivering on time is overrated

Building a product is not about what you build, but how it is received. How funny a joke sounds in your head doesn't matter if there is an uncomfortable silence in the room after it leaves your lips. The same applies to features, it's not about the intention but how they are actually used.

Unfortunately, we often don't apply this same wisdom when building features. Instead of thinking how we can evaluate what we build makes a difference, we focus on hitting timelines and delivering features as specified. Then after we're done, we move on without looking back.

Why does this happen? And what should we be doing instead?

Measuring what Matters - What Success Looks Like for Agile Organizations

Metrics are a powerful tool for measuring progress against goals, but like all power tools, they can become dangerous in unskilled hands. When used in informed ways, they can improve focus and lift outcomes, but when mishandled, they can increase waste and inflict real damage. This talk will explore why focusing success on activities and outputs leads to poorer results than focusing on outcomes and how to improve and align your measures with strategic goals using Evidence-Based Management, a framework developed by Scrum.org that uses value as evidence and is focused on improving business agility empirically.
